Critical illness
What is Critical illness Insurance?
Group Critical illness Insurance is a benefit that pays out a lump sum if an employee is diagnosed with a serious illness covered by the policy.
This usually includes conditions like cancer, heart attack, stroke, and other life-changing illnesses. It’s there to help ease the financial pressure that can come with a diagnosis — whether that’s covering treatment costs, household bills, or lost income while they recover.

How does Group Critical Illness Insurance work?
The policy is set up and paid for by the employer, and the premiums are usually tax-deductible as a business expense.
Employees are covered while they’re employed and meet the policy terms. If they’re diagnosed with a covered condition, they receive a lump sum payment directly, which they can use however they need — whether that’s for treatment, making adjustments at home, or simply giving them some financial breathing space while they focus on getting better.
